The Fourth of July - Celebrating Independence

Dust off Uncle Sam and pull out the red white and blue and you have the makings of a memorable 4th   Whether you are planning a big celebration or a quiet day with family it takes such a little bit to make the day special.

For entertaining purposes nothing works better than red.  You can use red placemats, coasters and red crystal for Christmas, Valentines Day, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, or whenever you are in the mood.

Something as simple as a specialty beanie baby with a flag in his hand helps to set the mood.  Or use a specialty decorative plant stick in a pot plant to add a splash of appropriate color.

For a picnic setting, cover paper towel tubes with red contact paper or red fabric insert silver placed inside a napkin to make fire cracker style holders for napkins and silver.  These fire crackers can be placed in a cute basket and set in a convenient location..

This fourth I added a set of quilted pinwheel placemats to use on my Independence Day table. which will be set with blue speckled enamel plates, mugs, and bowls.  A matching quilted runner adorns the sideboard.
